POEM|Cleansing of dark memories

Mindfulness beckons, it is time for laundry

sunshine threatens to leave prematurely

the petulant pageant queen

who puts them down to keep them keen

the bucket is half empty

no joy, no love, no unity

holding on to bile within

just fissured lather and defaced bubbles

biting through thickened skin

sore and wrinkled like frostbitten lips

like my resolve and fingertips

As I delve into the blue foamy murkiness

pulling in and out with dizzying consciousness

dipping dripping

lifting, dripping

a Kodak reel of pain we sold our hearts and bought

its time we realize this is more than marigolds

the stain is richer than we once thought

this is of warfare and strongholds
